  • 6,5 Creedmor mit Lapua Scenar 139gr und VV 555


    Did you have any success with N555 and the 140gr ELDM in the end? I'm also struggling with making a load that is fast enough. I have posted the details here and below in m/s (all are 5 shots beside 41.5 & 42 where my Magnetospeed gave me issues)

    I did not have much luck with exactly this same configuration.


    I see you use AOL of 71mm, did you try longer? With 0.03" room to the grove's I have a AOL of 72.1 with a Scenar 167

    Haha! I still think it's 5/8 24 as the barrel is only 20mm and I can't remember that there was so little cut down at the crown (would be just 1mm down from 20mm) when I put on the original muzzle brake.

    I can understand German (so please reply in German) but my writing is a bit poor so in English;


    I have tried many different loads and few bullets (Lapua Scenar 167, Berger Hybrid 168) but have settled on below for my Tikka T3x Tac a124" in 308:

    39.2gr VV N140

    Hornady ELD 168gr

    Lapua Brass

    Large rifle primer CCI200

    AOL 72.4 (!) (with Hornady ELD I can go as far as 72.7mm)

    Magnetospeed measurment on avg 730m/s with SD between 1.9 and 2.5 consistently


    Consistently (80% of groups) <.5 moa / <15 mm @ 100m


    I have a question to you guys; I want to order a new muzzle brake (mundungsbremse) but I'm on holiday so I cannot measure my threading ; The manual of Tikka mentioned M18x1 but on all the websites it says the threading is 5/8x24. Is any one in the situation that they can check for me?
